Default Please help (Australia)

Hey everyone,

I am really interested in getting in to the business and eventually creating my own online shop from home.
I've got plenty of artwork but, no idea on the process and pricing to get my artwork on to clothing...

I have no idea where to start!!
As much researching online that i've been doing I'm still lost and I'm struggling to find help on topics like..

What do I need to get started?
Where do I find this equipment or people?
What price range would I be looking at to get started?

Some of you might find this silly but, i've got everything but, a thousand plus dollars for a printer.

If anyone could please take the time out of there day to help me out and give me some answer, it would mean a hell of a lot!!

Welcome to the wonderful world of t-shirts and apparel merchandise!

Two options to get started. Outsource your t-shirt production to a fulfilment/drop shipping company, which allows you to concentrate on the important areas of the business like artwork design, creative, sales, customer service, etc.

The other is to buy your equipment and print all your designs in-house. Big investment, maintenance and up keep and you may find yourself too busy printing rather than running the business. A digital method like Direct-to-Garment or Digital transfers would be the most economical to setup. You're looking into the tens of thousands for a good DTG setup.

have you looked at dye sublimation? okay people jump up and down because you have to use polyester shirts (they are not wishy washy shirts anymore) and they have to be a very light colour (up to a light ash or pale pastels) but the options for imprinting on so many different substrates with your Dyesub are huge. (everything from glass and slate through to jewellery) take a look at 'the transfer press' site to see the range.
Plus the printer isnt going to cost the earth, I have found it is best not to go with a printer that has modifications of any sort to get it to print with dyesub ink. My recommendation is a Ricoh, that way you can work on your art and just press print, not have to worry everytime if it's going to have blocked nozzles etc and you need to waste time, paper and ink doing maintenance.
