Default Help! Orders through email

Hi, I'm currently running an online store and recently had a customer ask if he could purchase some products.

Now the weird thing about this is that he doesn't want to use to the site to process his order and would rather that I process his card details through emails sent back and forth. He has given me his order and I was just wondering if I should be weary? He is going to send his card details through email. Is there something I'm missing? Am I allowed to process his card details if he sends it through email?

I know this will probably sound like common sense to most of you but I'm just starting out and I want to make sure I'm not crossing any laws while taking his order.

Thanks!

Tell him you need a copy of his ID also sent and that the name on the card has to match the name on the ID. You can then call Visa or MC and find out if the card has been stolen or not

Thanks, I ended up calling the bank after all that. Turns out the card was cancelled a few days ago. Lucky I waited it out for a bit before trying to process it with the bank. I went commonwealth bank to process the details. They were helpful

Yeah I had a guy call me wanting to order 100shirts and wanted to pay by credit card over the phone. Once I told him to email me a picture of the front and back of the card and of a ID that matches it I never heard from the guy again.
