Melbourne here too.

Slowly getting into the street wear game..... networking, designing, getting to know the ropes, etc.
Hoping to make 09 a big year.
Seems there is a wealth of knowledge here, I've found so much info just from browsing.

I look forward to learning so much more.

Seems like everyone in Melbourne wants to become a T-shirt mogul!

I am trying to cum up with a killer label... I suppose the rest of you are too!

Hi all,

My name is Brent, living on the Gold Coast but originally from Melbourne. I'm in the process of ordering blanks from a manufacturer abroad, blanks that are the thin and very soft tees that you find in upmarket boutiques. Its something thats really unobtainable at a reasonable price at the moment.

This forum is great its very helpful to read everyones problems and achievements!

Hey Jono here. Melbourne born and raised.

I just got a run of screen printed t-shirts for artist merchandise from a company in Sydney. Wasn't really happy with the quality so here I am.
Currently designing/organising/distributing music label clothing. Looking to expand into general clothing eventually. Looking to network and find useful information via this site.

Hi Bren here,

Raised in Frankston, now in Geelong.

Into my tenth year of a promotional merchandise company, i also run an online store selling training gear and merchandise to a vertical market (karate)

I have two niche websites related to promo merch (pens & hats)

I just purchased some heat press equip (flats, hats and mugs) & dye sub gear to give me A/ more profit and B/ more flexibility (especially for the karate tees and merch)

Here to learn & network now that i have ventured into actually making some of my own goods.

I too have always had the desire to own a designer tees online store, (i studied art & design years ago, and the artisit in me likes the idea of creating) but right now i will be concentrating on making what i have now tick over better and more profitably before a start something new

I too would be very interested in getting together for a bit of networking and info sharing, an exibition also sounds like a fantastic idea. Has anybody made any moves to make this happen?

See you in the soup,

Bren

Cool Re: Who's In Melbourne And What Do You Do?

Hi, my name is Tim
I live in Melbourne and have just started making my own designs for t-shirts. It would be good to say hi to other fellow Melbourniuns. I have just got a new Roland GX 24 so it has helped me immensly. I like to do paper transfers (JPSS and Opaque) of my designs onto blank t-shirts. I am doing whitty and funny designs and also patterns.
Thankyou
Tim!

I imported some JPSS and Jet Opaque papers from a company in America called New Milford Photo. I believe there is a link to them on the main page, but if not, here it is: Heat Transfer Paper | New Milford Photo I found to be quite cheap to order in bulk. Also, there was a place i bought some paper from that is based in Western Australia, but i cant remember the post. I can get back to you on it.
Cheers

Hey all,
I'm another one in the DTG boat, slowly acquiring graphics skills, printing a bit of everything.
Would be especially happy to work with anybody able to create 'talisman' images in all forms, since I'm Talisman Tshirt Printing,
Cheers,
Cathy

Hey Irish,

Steve here. I'm in the process of setting up a small screen printing set-up from home (Preston, Melbs). Had my own business for years in NSW now looking at doing the same here. I'm looking at filling the niche of smaller runs the big guys won't touch but printing the same or even better quality. Stay in touch if you're looking for a good suplier of printed shirts. Also have a DTG for one off's etc.

Cheers mate!

hi all,

also in melbourne we are Roland distributors. great to see some of our clients here.

i was also involved in a street-wear retail company named American republic.

very upmarket tokidoki t-shirts and American car and bike stuff like occ,

i have seen some great stuff come out of Australia in design to match anything the world can offer.

i find that the quality of shirt from the usa seems so much better, we must have places that supply good stuff as opposed to the inferior stuff out of you know where
