Default Clogged Print Head

Hey Everyone,

I'm looking for some help on a clogged print head on my MPower 10. I've tried all the usual tricks, print head cleans, soaks and what not. I'd rather not send my printer in to be repaired by the tech guys in CA. I really can't afford to be out for a couple months it usually takes to get the machine back. I've read a couple threads about people who have replaced print heads themselves. I feel confident with my machine that I could do this. Before I do that though I was wondering if anyone has any experience taking out the clogged print head and flushing it out outside of the machine. I've tried doing a reverse flush before and ended up damaging print heads and had to send it in. Didn't know if taking out the print head and doing it is easier and could work for me. If anyone has advice on this and/or directions I'd greatly appreciate it!

Thanks

Have you already flushed your printer? If so and you know its clogged then I would just buy the print head. That way you won't be down long. Unless anajet is going to cover the print head and it needs other work done on it, its not worth sending in. Just ask yourself what is cheaper? Paying for a new printhead or the amount of work you will lose by sending it in.

I agree with Migs. You could always try flushing it out of the machine and if you are able to get it going again, then you have an extra head in an emergency. I have replaced two heads so far and like anything for the first time it will take a bit longer. Figure about 1-1.5 hours, and some sweat. It is pretty straight forward process. Make sure you have all of the tools you need to do this. You will need an allen wrench (forget the size) also tube clamps also help with the spilling of ink. Headlamp always helps. Getting the dampers in place is always no fun. What helps me there is using a needle nose pliers to align each damper into place. Good luck. You can always call me if you need help and I will share what I know, I also know Chuck is an amazing resource and has probably changed more heads than I have printed shirts 562-426-7150

There is a company in California that provides unclogging services for the Gen four head. I think you only pay if they are successful. PM me and I can share the info with you.
