Hello, guys.

Do you know the current price for AnaJet printer? The price shown in their website doesn't seem realistic ($15,450). Of course, I am interested in buying only one unit, not multiple units, so exra bundle discount won't apply. Any prices you paid for in 2008 would be appreciated.

Thanks to all.

I would think that price would be pretty close Is that what is listed on their site? if so then it is probably right. I bought the HM1 package with the press and everything and it was $17,000. So that seems right for a small format dtg.

Dear Torrent,

Your price is correct.

The AnaJet that is CMYK only costs $13,950.00.
If you want the ability to do white ink it is $15,450.

You can also initially purchae the CMYK AnaJet and add the white ink option later (white ink + rip) for $1,500.

Thank you so much for your valuable information, BobbieLee, Mike and Mardiv. It was very helpful for planning the budget.
And can you also recommend a heat press which can go well with Anajet printer? The company and model number would be so much appreciated.

Dear Torrent,

You are welcome. You can also show your appreciation by pressing the "Thanks" button below the post. I know its makes me feel good to see that "thank you's" counter each time I log in.

Now on yo your question.
Get an auto open heat press. The press time on the dark garments is 90 seconds. It is easy to get distracted and forget about the shirt in the press.

STX16-Hotronix-AutoOpenClam16x16 and STX20-Hotronix-Auto-OpenClam16"x20" are both good choices. Hix S-650D Auto Open Clam 16"x20 & GeoKnight DK 16 and DK 20 with autoopen option are also excellent models.

HotTronix
Hix
GeoKnight

I think Mike covered it, pictures and all, my kinda guy!!

We got the HotTronix (the first one in the line of pics) and so far we love it. It's digital for easy usage and it pops up automatically. It can also be set to hover.

I'm sure Mike can tell you about the others but as a beginner, I think ours works really well.

Good Luck!

Torrent, one more thing to add. buy yours from someone that you like. Someone that you connect with and know you can come to NO MATTER What questions or problems you have. Anajet themselves are AWESOME! I could not say enough kind words about that company. They are ALL SO FRIENDLY! But it is also good to have the person you buy from be the same way. that is the priceless part.

For example we bought our BROTHER embroidery machine and it has given us grief since day one and every time I call for help or want to bring it in, they give me a really hard time. It has just sat here collecting dust! $15K worth of dust.

So, please consider your sales rep, it should be someone you feel comfortable with. This is a big purchase and you need someone you can rely on, not give you extra grief and burden.

The guy we bought from, calls us from time to time, and just last week sent us a box of blank shirts to practice on. He even pretreated some blacks so we could jump in a practice. And sent us some parchment (or whatever that is called) and tapes so we could sample them. That reminds us that we made the right choice.

the good thing is that anajet corporate is great, and I am so greatful for this wonderful forum that has also proven to be priceless!

mardiv,

Have you looked at the Amaya by Melco for an embroidery machine? We have two of them and had actually traded the older models to the newer XT models 2 years ago. We really love them. Here is their website for the Amayas. Melco - AMAYA Commercial Embroidery Machine

Truthfully, we are so heartbroken over our machine, I really can't think about one for a while. You know how that is, to be so disappointed. We haven't even paid off the machine and it sits here all messed up. I could see the potential in our machine if it worked correctly. It's like the stubborn troublemaker child that needs way too much attention, I hate throwing in the towel. but rehab (the shop we got it from) just keeps denying him - even though we paid for the 4 year warranty!! ha! What a joke!

I understand what you mean. It is really hard to see that kind of money just thrown away. I would think with the 4 year warranty there should be someone or someplace you could take it to get it fixed. That really doesn't sound like Brother to do something like that. I wish you the best of luck and do not give up keep trying!!!!

Also with the RIP, you have control of the "in Line" passes and the Dot size so you can get an amaising amount of white down. Now for the Bad (and this goes for all printers where you preatreat) It does take some experimentation to get this down and it's a time killer production wise You've got to charge more for this service. White ink takes a little more set up time to make sure all channels are fireing (head pattern test). If the printer has been sitting overnight you may have some ink jet clogging (mostly on white channels) but what I do is gang up my white ink printing jobs, because one everything is flowing, it will keep flowing. I'm more than happy with the washability so far (much better than I expected). A recent Rip update improved the color profiles on a few colors I didn't think translated well from RGB. Mark, what I'm saying is as far a Direct to garment printers go, you can't go wrong with this one. You're on the opposite end of the globe from where they're made, so just be sure that the distributor can and will take care of you when tou make your commitment. That was my top concern when I make my choice. If you have any other questions that you want to ask feel free.

nice info about the anajet. i'm currently dealing with one of the sales reps. this printer sounds very good from the responses that i've heard so far, with yours being the most interesting.

an internet company that offers tagless t-shirts and printing services recently posted on their website the ability to print 18 x 26. before i purchase an anajet, i would like to see if this printer is any good and/or comparable to the anajet quality.

If I paid for a warranty I would be calling everyday until they got tired of hearing from me.

The squeaky wheel gets the grease as it goes

I am not sure where you are located but believe me if you call them at all hours of the day and night they will get tired of hearing from you and do something to get you to go away.
I am not one to give up and I will bug a company to death until I get results.

Something to think about

I visited the Anajet plant last week, and I was impressed. They printed both light (white) and black shirts for me. I liked the cartridge ink system. Anajet offers a pre-treatment booth for a reasonable price (you can build one yourself very cheaply) and I'm not sure if they were hang drying, or heat drying the pre-treatment. I did see them hover the heat press over the black shirt for a few seconds to warm it up.
