Getting a specific shirt color on Zazzle, or alternatives to Zazzle Hello all, I'm new to the forum and have a few questions I'm hoping someone here will be able to answer. First a bit about me: I'm a fairly casual print-on-demand user, typically doing just one offs of my own designs for myself or as a gift. Years ago I received a CafePress shirt as a gift, and was not at all impressed with the printing – it felt very plasticy and had large areas of clear plastic around the design itself. A few years later I ordered a shirt from Zazzle for my sister, and was very impressed by their printing. The shirt was still soft, and the ink didn’t sit above the shirt, but rather seemed to be almost a part of the shirt itself. Since then I’ve become a loyal Zazzle user, though again only for one-offs. I am again looking to make a one-off shirt, trying to recreate a specific shirt for a costume. I need a tshirt in a grass green or faded kelly green, preferably something very soft or even vintage, but it doesn’t look like Zazzle carries anything in that range – the closest I can get is a dark forest green, a faded moss green, or a bright lime green. Nothing at all close to grass green or kelly green. So my first question is, does Zazzle have any options for getting a tshirt color out of their normal range? I know American Apparel has a perfect green (called “Grass”), and while Zazzle carries American Apparel shirts, they don’t offer that color. Has anyone here previously contacted Zazzle about a specific color of shirt that they don’t normally carry? My other option, if Zazzle can’t offer a good grass green, is to use another POD service for this one shirt. Like I said above, I’m a fan of Zazzle’s printing techniques, which I think is called “direct to garment”? And I wasn’t impressed with CafePress back in the day (they use “heat transfer”?), but I haven’t seen anything of theirs recently so I don’t know if they’ve improved. Also, for this particular shirt, I’m looking to do white printing over the grass/kelly green, which I realize may require heat transfer, or a process similar to what Zazzle uses for dark tshirts. I’m not real familiar with all the terms, so forgive me if I’m mixing things up here. So any recommendations for Zazzle alternatives? I hate to have to go elsewhere, but the greens that Zazzle stocks are just unworkable, unfortunately. Thanks in advance, Ryot |
