Do you think companies are hurt with so much of their branding?

The word Zazzle appears in huge font on every page, and even the package. Do you think this makes it almost impossible to start a brand? I'm not necessarily talking about a clothing brand, I just mean brand in general. For example there are companies like Disney and Star Wars that use their services.

Cafepress also has their logo everywhere but it's slightly smaller and not as abrasive.

It depends on how you use it. Many people that use Zazzle are selling just fine and aren't worried about creating or establishing a "brand". They just want to make sales.

That being said, you can create your own "brand" by using your own website, customizing the zazzle gallery, making use of a newsletter, having compelling, unique designs, etc so that customers remember to come back to you when they want more.

What you lose in "branding" opportunities, you can make up in "lack of overhead". With Zazzle, you don't have any overhead in pre-printing products, ecommerce setup, etc.

Basically, there are tradeoffs no matter which route you choose to get your stuff done (do it yourself, print on demand fulfilment, fulfillment only, etc)

You just have to weigh the options and see how they fit in with *your* business plan and business needs.

For some, Zazzle will be a perfect fit. For others, they may want to "do more" and have more control. For others, they may find another service fits their needs better. I don't think there is a one size fits all option for everyone who wants to start a clothing line or sell t-shirts. Everyone has to go their own way.
