Default Is wholesale, really wholesale?

Good day all,

Since my wife, and myself have ventured into the wonderful world of media decorating, I've been paying close attention to pricing at every store we walk in.

I've seen printed mugs go for a buck a piece at a dollar store, so I figured personalization would be the way to go here if we were to have an edge to compete.

I've seen T's (Hanes 5135//Appears to be same as 5280) sale for less than 2 bucks a shirt at Wally World (9 bucks for 5 pack).

So to my question, "Is wholesale, really wholesale?" By the time you pay shipping I haven't found a site that does much better, even at a buck, and a half a shirt (plus shipping) I'm not seeing a great discount, or am I missing it?

Any, and all input is greatly appreciated, and I thank you for your response in advance.

in my recent experience in the uk,,,,,,wholesale deffo does not always mean wholesale,,,,im finding some supposed wholesalers are actually for example charging a reduced cost amount per shirt if you buy over say 100 or 200 theyre saying its theyre wholsale bulk reduced price for doing so,, when i fact i can go to the likes of ebay and buy just one shirt cheaper than theyre asking if you buy a large quantity,,,,,,especially aftr vat an shipping,,.......... just this morning,,,,, i bought 5 gildan tees to practice on,,, they cost me all in 9 uk pounds shipped........ obviously 1.80 per coloured shirt.......supposed wholsalers are asking around 1.65 per tee if i bought 100,, then theyres the vat and shipping so it works out more than 1.80 per tee from the wholsaler, that aint bloody wholsale imo,,,,,, just to add 50 of these tees from this site worked out at 2.08 p per tee b4 ship and vat

Thanks for your response jamper,

That's pretty much what I'm seeing as well. I have to believe the supposed wholesalers are getting them cheaper to allow for profit, and that's the price I am looking to buy at. If possible. If not, well maybe Wally World will get a few more of my $$'s.
