Discuss the wholesale blanks industry: Factory direct, custom labels. You can also use this forum to locate a wide variety of wholesale products including t-shirts, hoodies, mousepads, coffee mugs and other imprintable products.
I am starting a T-Shirt company trying to get everything sorted out. Just looking for a wholesale site to buy blank tees from where I don't need a tax ID?
Any suggestions?
Thanks,
Tyler
I agree, simply get a tax ID. It's not a difficult or expensive process. This will ensure you are running a legitimate business and keep the pricing low for you. I know some companies might sell at wholesale prices to those without a tax id, but I believe that is counterproductive to those who are taking the legal steps in running their businesses. IMO, it hurts legitimate business more than it helps those who don't go through the proper channels.
Thanks guys! Can anyone help me get started on the process? Or is their a post that explains what having a tax ID means taxes wise. And what about a state resale of garmet permit? I am just new to the starting of a business and would love to have more information on the process!
Thanks for all your help!
Tyler
Depending on your state, these may be one and the same. In Ohio, we have a vendor's license and that's it. other states have 1, 2 or more documents. See if you have a local auditors office. If so, call them and tell them what you need and they will give you the information needed.
I'm looking into this too. It seems if you are a sole proprietor, your tax ID is your SSN. My state does not charge sales tax on clothing so, I don't need a state ID either. Thats what I've found so far anyway...
So I live in Eugene Oregon and have gone to the city of Eugene's website in hopes of finding stuff about tax id and retail liscense but have found nothing? Anyone else from Oregon with a clothing retail liscense.
You are right there are companies that will sell to you w/out a license or tax id, until you get yours. However, I believe having it is much better than not. Good luck to you & welcome to the forum. Here in my town a state vendor's license was only $25 bucks & the federal will be around $100. If you do it yourself. I know I've seen that some people have been hiring attorneys & going through legal zoom, etc. I don't think you need to do that.
