Hey everyone,

I need help identifying the gsm of the LV sprouse shirt. I've asked everyone (including the people at Malleries) what the gsm of the Louis Vuitton Sprouse shirt was. All anyone says is that it is "lightweight."

In my opinion, it looks like it is around 5.3 oz? But because it is made out of 50% modal instead of 100% cotton, my guess might be off and instead it might be heavier but looks lighter due to the modal.

What do you think? To the best of your abilities?

It couldn't be as easy as the numbers on the label, could it? XL being 185 GSM?

Or is that more likely centimeters?

I would have guessed that was centimetres - 185cm would be about 6' 1", which sounds about right for an XL. But if that were the case, I don't know what the second number would be (80kg on an XXS would be absurd, so it's not metric weight).

Could be a chest measurement. In Australia an XL would be 115cm in the chest... so 105cm for a fashion brand doesn't seem absurd.

So my guess is height and chest measurement of the fit model.

As to the weight of the fabric... I wouldn't have a clue, or know how to guess by photo. If someone asked me, with no photo, "What do you guess the weight of a Louis Vuitton shirt would be?" then my answer would be 3.5oz.
