Default Negotiating with T-shirt Suppliers

Hi All,
I have narrowed my t-shirt suppliers down to two for men's tees. I would like to know if anybody out there has some good advice for negotiating prices and services?
I'm interested in private labeling. Both companies are out of state. So, I will have to have items shipped to me here in Florida.
Thank
D

Buy by the container or pay what they tell you. Unless you buy that many or at leat 5k on an order they will not, amd why should they negotiate price with you.

I see not entirely inspiring but I thank you for your opinion. I've been in analysis paralysis over the R&D phase for too long. The prices quoted me are competitive for the quality offered. So, I think I will give it a shot today.

Sorry for the negative side but it was a long week, but unless you are a big account you pay what they ask. Its like walking into a department store and telling and start negotiate price on something you want to by. They have a price tag on them so either pay that price or not. It all comes down to time is money and it would take too much time to negotiate all the time.

No problem studog79. I guess your right. Nevertheless, I'm calling the sales rep tomorrow. I didn't have time to do so today. I'll let you know how it goes. Either way I do have a very good backup vendor with a similar product at a better price. I just prefer the first's cut. Either product will do.

Thanks,
D

Just remember don't be penny foolish. It seams most everyone on this site wants "cheapest". Now I understand that you have to watch your pennies but trying to sell a "cheap" shirt that looks like sh!t still doesn't mean antone would buy it for any amount. If people would concentrate on selling a quality product at a competititve price then they could make more money. I'd rather sell 1000 shirts that cost me $5.00 apeice then 2 that cost me $1.00 @ $10.00 each. Like most things in life you get what you pay for.

Quality certainly is very important to me and I believe I have found a great shirt. In fact, I did negotiate the shirt down about 10 cents a shirt. Doesn't sound like much. But it certainly helps us offset most of the shipping costs.

Thanks,
D
