Hi, I am just starting out in my business, I was wondering what sort of a price range T-shirt blanks have. I saw some $18 each on one site, I hope that's not what I'm in for! I know it can be a wide range, but can you give me an idea? I'll be looking for something with good quality, very soft.
You probably saw the retail price instead of the wholesale price.
You'll need to register for the site to see wholesale prices.
Or you can visit sites that don't require registration to get a general idea of wholesale blank t-shirt prices. Places like jiffyshirts.com will give you an idea.
Thank you, another site I was looking at was in the $6-$7 range & I know it said wholesale, but the link you gave me was just a couple bucks per shirt. Is that how much it varies? I am *very* concerned with the softness of the shirts I buy . . .
Great, thaks! That's much less than I was anticipating
The site I was looking at was Bare Apparel (the Super Soft Tee.) Is it a quality difference that makes it that much more? Can I find something comprable in the 1 - 2 $ range?

Absolutely. Bare Apparel is much better quality than brands like Gildan.

I cannot possibly emphasise this enough: NO.
You can shave a couple of bucks off and still get something good, but you won't find anything of that quality at bargain basement prices.
It's worth remembering this is all tied together though: you spend $1.50 on a blank, you end up with a shirt you sell for $12. You spend $7 on a blank (assuming you weren't just overcharged) you end up with a shirt you sell for $35. Match the blank to your market, and the costs will take care of themselves.

Oh wow, thanks so much for the info. I'm definitely looking for quality. I will be offering my shirts to people with sensitive skin, so comfort, & quality are very important to me. I wasnt them to be ultra soft. I was looking into pima cotton, maybe that's where I found the $18 shirt . . .

You might look into bamboo as well for super soft.

Great point Lewis and something everyone should take note of.
I wouldn't want to get too specific, both because it's hard when you're talking about multiple brands, and because we can't quote exact wholesale prices on the forums. But you're looking in the ballpark of $5-$9.

Oh, sorry I didn't realize that . . . . must review forum rules
They're an important, if dull, read... not sure if that's actually explicitly mentioned in there or not though. I should check
Basically a wholesaler complained about their pricing being posted in a public venue (i.e. here), so the rule is if the prices are quoted right on the public website it's fine, but if you need to sign up for an account to see them then we can't share them. As well as protecting the wholesalers' privacy, a lot of garment decorators would prefer their wholesale prices weren't right there for the general public to find in Google too.
Anyway, no biggie - it's just one of the reasons we can't give you an exact answer.

What sites carry Bamboo fabic? The cheapest I have been able to find are in the 15 to 20 dollar range for 90/10 bamboo/cotton. for 5 to 9 bucks I would be printing on those over AA shirts. SOOOOOOOOOOO.......Soft!
