Post Infant Clothing Questions

Hello everyone I am new to the forum and business and I have a lot of questions to ask about creating infant clothing. I thought I would put together a mega post and see what advice everyone has on their areas of specialty.

1. Blank Infant Onesies

After reading several posts I believe people are purchasing their onesies from:

Monag.com
Infantblanks.com
Kidsblanks.com

I ordered samples from Infantblanks.com and the prices range from about $1.50 – $1.80. I also saw a post where people had extra charges on their credit cards after they ordered from them, so I got worried and changed my account number. How are other peoples experiences with them?

What are the prices for Monag.com? I went to their site and clicked on the interlock short sleeve onesie and the price is $9.50. Is that correct? Does anyone have bulk pricing information and comments on their quality and customer service.

Also what is the bulk pricing for Kidsblanks.com and your experience with their quality and customer service?

What is your opinion about the quality of cotton to use? Is 100% cotton interlock the best onesie or at least the most typical used, and should I be looking for 3 metal snaps?

What is your best selling onesie sizes and colors?

2. Best Recommended Heat Press and Size

What size heat press would your recommend for onesies, baby hats and bibs? I have seen posts that recommend the following.
  • Geo-Knight
  • Hix
  • (Stahls) Hotronix
  • (Stahls) Mighty Press
Does anyone prefer one company over another? I was thinking of going with a swing press, and how much more benefit is an automatic press. Right now I am just starting out so I don’t have any indication of the volume I will be producing. But I would like good quality.

3. Transfer Paper

What transfer paper has worked best for people printing to onesies? I do find a large sentiment on the forum for JPSS (jetpro softstretch). What website has the best prices?

What are the typical dimensions of the graphic you print to a onesie and do you make the graphic bigger for a larger size onesie? Do you print two designs to a 8x11 transfer sheet and use them on different pieces?

4. Printer

Currently I have a HP PSC 1315 color printer. Will this printer be good enough to print to JPSS transfer paper? What other printers do you recommend since I am starting out I don’t want to purchase an expensive specialty printer. Typically how many transfer sheets can you produce from one color ink cartridge. I realize this depends on how much color is used in the graphic, but just looking to get a range from the forum.

Please provide any tips or hints.

Thank You,

BallinBaby

Since Monag (and other companies) keeps their wholesale pricing private for their registered customers only, we can't share it here in the forums. You'll need to register with them as a customer to get access to their wholesale pricelists.

You can find lots of feedback on their quality and service by searching the forums for monag. That way you won't miss all the past great posts that members have shared about their experiences with this company.

Those same people that posted may not see your new post, so I just want to make sure you don't miss out on the info that has already been posted that can help

It seems like you've done your research There are people that will prefer one over the other, but in the end, it's just preference. All the brands you listed are good and will give you quality results.

The size really doesn't matter too much, unless budget is a concern. The bigger they are, the more they will cost.

Check through our preferred vendors list. Many of them have special offers on JPSS and other heat press supplies:

An epson c120 is a good starting printer.

TIPS IN GENERAL FOR FUTURE QUESTIONS:

For future questions is to separate your questions into separate new threads for each question.

That way the wholesale blank questions can go in the wholesale blank t-shirt section of the forum and the heat press equipment questions can go in the heat press equipment section of the forum with a specific title that will get the right people viewing your question.

People with answers on JPSS and heat press supplies may not read a thread with a title of "infant clothing questions" since they may not feel they can contribute a good answer.

Not everyone reads every thread, so the thread title and forum section its in is very important to getting good answers to your questions

Hope this helps some!

I just wanted to add that I also experienced credit card fraud after ordering from infantblanks. Someone immediately charged up my cc to it's limit within hours of placing the order! I believe it is because their website is not secure and it has been hijacked. I would caution everyone to place their orders over the PHONE.
