Default Price Matching and E-mail specials

I searched and couldn't find this anywhere, so I apologize if it's a repost.

I was wondering how many of the major wholesalers (S&S, Bodek, Broder, Alpha, San Mar, etc.) pricematch each other. I'd like to deal with one wholesaler exclusively, but not at the cost of, well, cost.

Also, let's say I find a wholesaler that does PM, is there a way to get the specials from other companies if I don't have accounts with them?

Thanks,

Try going to a major trade show and get scanned by their booth. You will get more emails than you care for. You can check their websites to see if you can register for their newsletter, but most of them want you to have an account.

Other than that, you can try to get current customers to forward special deals as well. I know that one of the members of the HTFDP board forwarded the S&S specials when they came out.

Assuming a company sends specials by e-mail, couldn't you also have someone just sign you up for the specials list?

Possibly, but as DAGuide said they generally want you to have an account. This restriction is mostly put into place for allowing Joe Schmoe from checking wholesale prices when he doesn't even have a resale license or t-shirt business at all.

Understood, I meant someone who already has an account with the company and can login to their site. Conceivably, they could sign up multiple e-mails, including ones that weren't their own.

That sounds like a little more work (and a bit shady) than is really necessary.

Especially if you will need an account to take advantage of the special advertised in the email. Might as well just signup for an account with the different companies.

I haven't heard of a t-shirt wholesaler doing price matching on another vendor's special offers.

I was thinking more along the lines of lazy than shady, but maybe you're right.

Concerning Pricematching, do you mean they only pricematch regular prices or they don't pricematch at all?

I've never heard of a t-shirt wholesale company doing pricematching at all. That's not to say it's not done, but I haven't heard about it.

Each company seems to have their own pricing already set. They have case pricing and sometimes "piece" pricing. They usually have certain requirements to get the lowest "case" pricing that they offer, but if you contact them directly, you can usually get that type of pricing setup for your account.

I've never heard of a wholesale t-shirt distributor company trying to lower their case pricing to match a competitor's case pricing or a competitor's special offers flyer.
