Default Need a go-to sweatshirt that doesn't shrink much...

I'm trying hard to have a few go-to sweatshirts that I can recommend to customers...and in the past, I've been very fond of the Gildan 12500 hoodies. However, on the last order I completed, the customer complained that they shrunk horribly. He complained so much that I eventually agreed to redo the order (only 12 sweatshirts).

So, now I need to know (1) if the Gildan 12500 has a reputation of shrinking and (2) what a good replacement would be. I'm looking for something under $10 wholesale, and still fairly heavy-weight. The Gildan seemed perfect, but I can't risk the quality issues and/or inconsistencies. Any ideas?

I've heard good things about Independent sweatshirts. Has anyone seen any notable shrinking from them?? Also, how are their 7 ounce sweats vs. their 10 ounce sweats.

Choose a style with a high percentage of polyester. I'm surprised the 12500 didn't work since its a 50/50. I would want to make sure that all sweatshirts shrunk considerably and that they were washed by different people rather than having a couple that were overdryed or not the correct size.

The cuffs and neck ribbing has been horrible. Sometimes the cuffs are so big you could put two wrists in one and the neck seams are crooked. The sizes run so big most of my customers have to buy a size smaller. They are being made in many different countries and you can sure tell the difference.

I buy 100-150 at a time different sizes and colors so it is not just one time problem- I think they are pilling up a lot also.

I just don't know what to switch to- I do embroidery and many of my designs take an hour to sew so I don't want a sweatshirt that is going to fall apart after a couple washings. My customers also want the pretty colors not just the standard ones

Sally, have you tried SanMar's Sport Tek brand? I haven't used too many but I've been pleased with the quality. I purchased two of their District Threads pigment-dyed sweatshirts for myself and have been happy with them.
