I too am looking for maternity blanks and I was shocked at lab40's prices. I have found a couple of places cheaper: Amma and Active Edge. Amma is a bit expensive for my blood, but maybe not for you. Active Edge is cheaper, but still not as low as non-maternity blanks.
I have been searching for a number of months for wholesale maternity blanks. I have even gone as far as talking to manufacturers, but since I am a small biz just starting out I really can't meet the numbers to get a significant price break (1000 shirts of one style in one color - $3.50). The best they could give me was $5.50 for 300/1 clr/1 style and that didn't even include fabric (figure another $3-4), pattern making (another $50 - 100) or labels (more $). I figure I'll go the manufacturing route if my designs do well.
I did try to contact a company called Mothers Work Inc. to see if they would sell last season leftovers, but that didn't work. I did learn that this company has cornered the market on maternity apparel in the US. Mothers Work Inc. owns Motherhood, Pea in a Pod, I think Mimi, they have their brand in Sears, Kohl's, and they are keeping a sharp eye on Target. Not really relevant, except for the fact that you know they are getting their shirts from China and India. I want to keep it local so I guess I'll just have to charge more.
Oh yeah, there is one other place called Dharma Trading. These folks specialize in fabric dyeing supplies so the shirts they sell are PFD white only (means you'll have to get them dyed), but they do have 2 styles that are basic, but nice, especially for summer or warm climates.

I noticed that there was a void in Maternity blanks and I'm have contracted a manufacture overseas. When I have them (2-3 months) I'll drop by and post a note here.

Karen, Isn't it a major pain to deal with folks overseas? I thought about going that route and I even posted an ad on Tradekey, but I was put off by the responses I received (language barrier or there seemed to be too many fees involved).

Karen when will you have your blanks. I am really looking for blanks I need to buy in bulk at least 400.00 worth.
Please let me know when you are getting them. I want to launch my line in January or February at the latest.

I would also love some information when they come in! I have been looking and trying to source tees myself-- but, due to the initial small quantities I need, have been hesitant to strike out to find them.
I did contact a US manufacturer, but I am a little nervous to purchase the initial minimum qty.

It's taking a lot longer then I thought but they are on the boat scheduled to arrive first week of Feb.
