Hello ALL!

I am new to the T-Shirt Industry. I would like to open a retail establishment just catering towards T-Shirts for Men, Women, Children.

I don't have the slightest idea where to begin on the manufacturing side of it. I would like to make similar TEE's to what you would get at an Express, Gap, Banana Republic, Armani Exchange, Etc. May even want to include some Polo's

I don't know the reality of making these shirts, however if I take it overseas, can I get these shirts made turnkey for around $2-3? Again this is a wild guess, don't know the reality of it.

Few questions arise though:

Who can help design these T-Shirts?

How many Shirts would I need to keep on hand of each style and size?

Who can help manufacturer at a discounted rate which would include all aspects of it, basiccally I would have to go and chose the fabric and give them the design. Turn Key Solution.

What would the finished cost on each one of these T-Shirts? Tagged and ready for retail

What would be the ideal amount I should sell them for?

Any and all help would be appreciated.

Woah. Good luck. I can tell you that manufacturing overseas, is not as cheap as you may think. Cotton prices (whether ethically grown, and organic such as alot of our product, or regular cotton) are increasing exponentially in China for instance. Then you have massive increase in fuel surcharges and freight, and customs duties. So please take a look at suppliers existing wholesale prices, and see if it is something you are still interested in, bearing in mind we are all trying to keep our product prices low, however, it is not easy.

You would all be amazed to learn how little we make on some items, in fact sometimes we don't make a penny and it costs us to sell-through.

It's a tough time to setup a large scale custom manufacture operation right now.
