| Re: The Tee shirt "a " List I cant believe there are so many "jerzees haters". I got a few samples, the ZT180 and the Long Sleeve ZT160L and i think they are great. They are soft and comfortable to wear.
I use FOTL both super premium and valueweight and think the ZT180 is better, i also use Gildan ultrablend 50/50 (high visability) T-Shirt and prefer the feel of the ZT180 to that.
The ZT160L is only 160gms and the Long Sleeve Super Premium FOTL is 205gms and more expensive but i still prefer the Jerzees.
I havent ever had a Hanes Beefy T, they are more than twice the price i pay for FOTL so it isnt cost effective for me.

| Re: The Tee shirt "a " List is it just me, or does the Hanes Beefy Tees have a small neck, and shrink considerably?
my boss swears by Gildan 6 oz, but I think they feel stiff.
the only shirt i like so far is AA basic tee. although they fit a little weird around the arms.
although the $17 bamboo tee is nice, thats just too expensive. wear it all the time though.

The black ones are scratchy and crappy. They're much like a Gildan shirt, only weightier (which is a bad thing in this climate). I seem to recall they have annoyingly tight necks as well (it's hard to remember - I don't wear them very often because I don't like them).
I'd always assumed the 10% poly in the heather shirt was enough to change the feel, but the way people talk about Beefys makes me wonder if their black dye does something harsh to the shirts that made them crappy (seems implausible though). What are the other colours like? Do people like the black shirts too?
Actually, this may be correct, odd as it sounds. I do remember at least one other mention of specifically black Beefy Tees not having the same softness factor as the rest. In addition, the only Beefy T-shirt I have is also black - and I'm also quite unimpressed with it (as you said, it feels like a Gildan; though I don't find that as bad as you do =).
I don't think the neck on might is especially/unusally tight; the only shirt I've gotten recently that felt oddly tight was an American Apparel ringer shirt, where the neck was a bit tight and the sleeve ends were tight (which was really odd to me).

The black ones have probably only been worn & washed a few times apiece if that could be making the difference (although the heather was comfortable from day one).
Obviously this is a subjective experience so not everyone's going to feel the same way, but I do find it odd.
The fact that I find them unpleasantly heavy and others don't is just a matter of personal preference and climate... not odd. But the fact that I find them scratchy and stiff vs. others finding them soft is the thing I'm still wondering about.
