I have not yet obtained a sample of an American Apparel tee.

However, in looking at the many Fine Jersey adult styles on the AA site, most seem to have somewhat of a slight "sheen" to them, almost like that of polyester performance apparel. A couple tees to see what I'm referring to are below:

Is this accurate what I am seeing, or could it be the photo light bouncing off the material to give it that look? Does anyone have an AA tee to confirm or deny?

None of mine have a sheen.

I carry the aa tees and they dont have a sheen, I think its just the way the light is hitting the shirt in the pics.
