I'm just wondering how difficult it was for everyone else to start a wholesale account with American Apparel.
I've had customer after customer asking for AA, so for the past month and a half I've been trying to set up an account with them. So far I've submitted 3 different applications, called customer service numerous times, and emailed a (she's supposed to be the one in charge of new accounts I guess). So far I haven't recieved one reply.
Is it just me, or do they not seem to want my business very much?

You may want to also try going through on of their distributors. Then you'll have access to a wide range of brands, including American Apparel, without the same minimums that aa has when buying direct.
TSCApparel.com carries American Apparel and I think AlphaShirt.com does too.
When I applied, they sent me their price list and said that another email with my customer ID would follow, but I never got that email.
I'm not terribly excited about their minimums, and we prefer the fit of Gildan t-shirts, not the slim-fit of AA, so we haven't really pushed the matter. It's just that I have one customer that would prefer AA shirts.
I meant to say how they figure their pricing, like donzen and case pricing. From every other company I order from they either have the same price for piece, dozen, or cases, but even if they don't, I can mix and match colors and sizes of the same style to meet those numbers.
I signed up for my wholesale account online, and never spoke to anybody.
I also never had a minimum order issue. I end up buying more one peice items for myself than what I print!!
The prices are generally better from distributors though, cause they are buying more than we are. So depending on what I need and if they have it, I go through a distributor over AA direct.
...Also in Boston, so shipping is important to factor in too.
Anyone have a good customer service rep with your AA account? Mine is rude and slow to respond. I just put in a $3k order and they are being so rude I can't deal with him.
Anyone have a recommendation of a customer service reps name?
