Hey,
My shirts will be a reasonably low budget affair. Looking to sell retail at no more than £6.99-£7.99. I am looking for what you think are the highest quality shirts available for ideally £1 a unit or less. Sorry if this is a bit of a newbie question for you guys . I have heard good things about Gildan shirts, are they actually any good?
I eagerly await your reply,
Kind regards and Merry christmas to the Americans still ,
Ben
Well I am from the USA so I don't know how the pricing converts but...
Go ahead with Gildan. They are probably one of the best options and the only time I stray from using them is if a customer requests a color not available with Gildan (rarely occurs, but does happen with Texas Orange) I don't think you will be disappointed.
It depends on the feel of the shirt you are looking for. Comfort Colors by Chouinard Welcome to Comfort Colors at Dyehouse.com offers a premimum Ring Spun T that I feel is the best. Gildan is a little cheaper per piece but there is no comparison to the 1717 from Comfort Colors. The 1717 is much softer than the scratchy basic T by Gildan, Anvil or Hanes.

What you consider "high quality" and what someone else considers "high quality" will probably be 2 totally different things.
You may want to try out a few different brands so you can test the "quality" for yourself before you commit to printing your designs on that brand/style.
Gildan, Fruit of the Loom and Hanes are 2 pretty standard brands that seem like they would fit your price range.

I totally agree with this statement! Gildan has never given me or my customers a problem.

Thanks for all your replies, they are most appreciated. Im going to be ordering some small lots of all the ones Rodney suggested. Probably 25-50 of each, although I have heard most positive comments about Gildan,
Much appreciated,
Ben
There is certainly nothing wrong with Gildan or FOTL. I personally don't like most Hane's cuts, but that is just me. Like Rodney said, just order some samples and try them out. Get a feel for what you like (but more importantly what you think your customers will like) and go from there. It will make your life easier, and you can guarantee that you ultimately will be satisfied with you decision.
I'm using Gildans, but I think I want to go with Hanes. I want a tagless tee. I also think I want to use the same tee across the board. So I will be looking into hanes for my ladies tees as well.

I generally use American Apparel for a soft tee and one that never shrinks. After 3 years I have shirts that still have a fitted and soft touch to them. Gildan 50-50's are good as well. Gildan 100% cotton are kind of a hard t-shirt.
