We've used them for a few designs. We were going to go with American Apparel, but holding up a sample of each, side-by-side w/o seeing the tags, most of us chose the Tultex. So, you can see it's got a good look and cut from the start. The problem is with washing: they seem to draw up pretty bad. I'd be in an XL and loving the fit, since the waist tapered inward, but a few washes later, it was a little too snug, and worse, too darn short. The price is definitely right, but they should start out with a longer cut so that washing gets them just right.
Oh yeah, their labels also tear away pretty easily.
It is good to hear positive feedback on Tultex. I can tell you that we have had some issues with the tear away label initially, but have since resolved the issues. This is a running change so some product will have the older labels. If you do have issues please call us and we will address.
The 0202 shirt SUCKS! I loved the price, loved the fit and feel. But they're crooked! They aren't quarter-turned properly, if at all. My silk-screener can't print STRAIGHT on them. It looks straight on the palettes but you put the shirt on and the print is WAY, WAY off. It's not the printer or the design, it's the shirt. I had to throw out all the shirts we printed (cause I can't sell crooked graphic shirts to my customers) and try again on Gildans. I really wanted Tultex to be my defaut blank. Great soft feel, awesome fit. But you can't print straight on them.
It sounds like you were having some issues with the fabric torquing. This is definitely possible as Tultex was experiencing some problems with that in the past. Fortunately, TSC took immediate action to correct production on this style. It is very possible that the t-shirts you received were from older stock. Please do not hesitate to call TSC to get anything like this worked out. We definitely appreciate any feedback; positive or negative.
