Default Gildan 2000(B) - Ultra Cotton sizing differences!

Hey guys!

I'm kinda confused!

Okay. I opened a clothing line not that long ago over the internet. I got my t-shirts screen printed by a company in my area. I asked for Gildan Ultra cotton T-shirts. I started with a batch of 50! When the t-shirts arrived. They were all ultra cotton, but some had different tags to one another.

i have uploaded pictures of each t-shirt tag. Just copy and paste the links below into your browser:

1st tag - http://i4.tinypic.com/8b8viup.jpg

2nd tag - http://i18.tinypic.com/6z87dw0.gif

Anyway! The problem was. I usually take Youth Medium t-shirts. But when i tried the t-shirt with the 2nd tag on, it was a little bit small for me. So i went and tried Youth Medium in a different colour with the 1st tag on, and it was a bit too big for me! So i tried the Youth Small with the 1st tag on, and it fitted perfectly!

So yeah! The sizes are really different between the two tags! I'd really like to get my next batch of t-shirts with the 1st tag on. I just hope they can do it. They say that they get their stock directly from Gildan so it shouldn't be a problem.
Do you guys know why there are two different tags and why they are different sizes?

Sorry for the long message! haha!
thanks!
- matt

You have to remember that Gildan is made in several countries and there can be a subtle difference in sizing.
Mind you I am abit confused with the Heavy Weigh indication.
Why don't you contact Gildan directly and ask.

The different tags are because Gildan are in the process of changing over their tags to a new design (or perhaps not in the process of; they may have done it by now).

They might have changed their sizing a bit at the same time, but more likely it's just down to the variations that unfortunately happen in this industry (sizing is not consistent).

You might be able to get shirts of a specific tag for a while (though I wouldn't count on it), but since one of them (your second image) is just old stock, that situation won't last.

The first tag seems to be the newer tag of the two.

We've noticed the same thing but haven't noticed a size difference so we'll have to check that out in our stock.

But, as far as I know. they are the same shirt.

We have noticed a sizing difference between two shirts with the same tag. Try measuring across the chect on two shirts with the same tage and most likely you will notice a slight (sometimes noticible) diffference in their size.

I have asked several times with my provider and they indicate it is normal from almost all mills.

I dont know about the tags you have from Gildan but if you want to look deadly to your clients...make tags and have them applied at your screener.

How cool is that!
Minimal cost..i pait about .25 for the actual printed tag 1000 peices
and about .35 to have it sewn in!

and it up less than a bucka nd you are now the coolest guy in town with shirts that say your company on them...rock on!
