I recently discovered a manufacturer from china, who said they could deal with low minimums in order to create business relationships, which is what caught my eye about this company. I starting an action sport company and want the best t shirts possible, because the fit, feel, and design is what will make our company stand out.
I want to know what you guys would suggest as far as weight, material and fit in order to achieve a superior shirt to a billabong/ hurley/ or other fashion fitting shirt
I am intrigued with bamboo shirts, and they tell me that i can get bamboo shirts for $4.50-$5.00 a shirt without screen printing, so i expect they would end up at $7/shirt or so.
Do i want to go with a 180 gsm shirt, or something like 150gsm...what would be the difference??? would the 150 gsm be lighter and softer?
Will I notice a huge difference with a bamboo/cotton blend and will it be worth it..will people pay more for a softer shirt?
Thanks in advance for the help..
Also where can i find measurement specs for shirts which would be a slim fitting T??
always keep in mind the lead times involved in importing product from off shore. If you find you develop a style that sells through really well you will have probably an eight week minimum lead time before you have that style in stock again. The lead time factor is why a good deal of the t-shirt industry in North America is supplied by manufacturers in Mexico/Central America.
I deal with a mfg in India. My lead time is 90 days... sometimes more depending on how responsive they are at the time I place an order. Then you have to deal with import duty taxes, freight forwarding, legal fee's and bonds. Its an expensive route to go importing. Better make sure its right for you before you go into it.

I've dealt with a company in China and I didn't have anything custom made but rather used their specs. It took five months just to communicate how the print should look on the shirt. We sent pictures, etc. and after 4 samples they finally got it. It was an experience that is for sure. The only thing that was disappointing is that even with all of the duty taxes, legal fees, brokerage fees, and air freight expenses it was still cheaper than anything I could have purchased and screen printed in the US. That's just my experience. Bamboo is suppose to be really good material. Good Luck!
Can you please provide me with this companies contact information? What is their low minimum? How's the quality? Please let me know. Thanks.
1500 minimum - the quality is so/so. The sizes were my main concern. Their specs are for very small Americans. If you have your own specs then you are better off using them. Tina Ji is great to work with though and she will stay with you till the end. The cost of the garments, prints, air freight, duties and brokerage fees oh and they have what is called a quota that they have to tack on to the price. But overall this ran me about $5700.00. So if that is in your budget you let me know and I will get you the info.
