We have been getting our gildans from gauss sales, and I have never run into any issues with counts, or shirt quality. As a side note, we havent bought in case lots yet.
We received some shirts from a different supplier, (gildan shirts) and these shirts were purchased by case lot. Out of the 24 I used, 2 had holes, and one was so thin the ink went right thru the shirt!
So my question is....when you are buying in bulk, or sales, are you getting sub-quality shirts? Have you noticed sub-quality from certain suppliers?
Thanks Jim. I thought it was maybe a coincidence. We just thought it was odd that this happened right after my husband and I started talking about buying t's by the case. Funny how that happens.
Are you going to be at the printwear show Jim? If you see us, say Hi!

Gilden seems to have more quality control issues then JerZee or Hanes... Although they are occasional, they still have issues... holes show up here at an average rate of about 1 in 1000 most look like they were done by the sewing machine needle snagging the shirt.... also get Navy Blue shirts from time to time with spots of what looks like sewing machine oil on them.... have never had any of these problems with anyone else but Gildan... and Like I said they are minimal but if you fail to catch it and have a customer bring a defective shirt back then that defect was one too many..... just my two cents but gildan does have a lot of issues. i only buy them when on sale. i prefer jerzees, a lot of my customers want gildan. jerzees wash up seems to be better gildan has a lot of fibers yuk. and a lot of loose threads. jerzees are smooth and easier to work with.
As I work for a T-shirt manufacturer and re-seller, I buy direct from Gildan and have found them not to be as high quality as i'd expect. Especially if I were to be selling the product retail.
I've had holes, poorly sewn seams and loose threads.. mainly loose threads!
I'd recommend Blue Pacific
