Default Looking for ladies tshirt manufacturers in So Cal!

Can anyone out there please help me find a t-shirt/clothing manufacturer in the Southern California, Orange County area? Preferably one who can supply the fabric, cutting, sewing, printing, etc. all in one place and at a price that would allow me to wholesale my product. I'm only starting out with about 3000 shirts (ladies t, cap sleeve, tanks, jersey's) to test the popularity of different graphic designs I have. I have been working with a big time company that makes product for some of the most well known apparel companies out there but they have a lot of legal bs going on that makes me a little nervous to say the least. Anyway, if you can help I would be very grateful.

Thanks!

If you are anywhere near downtown Los Angeles go there, around 6th street and Main. This is the garment district in Los Angeles.

You probably want that legal bs, as it's probably there to protect both you and them. Most companies you work with will have some type of terms that you'll agree to before production starts.

If you're working with one of the biggest and best, that might be a good place to stay if they can do what you need.

What's the name of the company you're working with now?

You may want to check out variantart.com as well

Hey Rodney, Thanks for your response! I just finished writing Variantart.com. Hopefully this isn't one of those companies that charges you $6/7 a shirt and expect you'd be able to wholesale them to stores and still make a 100% profit. I currently have a price for a finished product (including printing) at about $3.50 per through PDQ. And it's a quality product! I know that's a great price but not if I can't even get them to make it! The owner just has some major issues he's dealing with and I'm having to pay for it. I expected to be out in time for summer and now it looks like I'll miss it all together. I'll let you know how it goes with Variantart!

Thanks again for your help!

What kind of quantity is that per style and size?

What is PDQ?

PDQ is the name of the company and stands for Price, Delivery, Quality. Unfortunately, the 'D' in PDQ just isn't happening! They are located in Orange County.

Total number of shirts is about 3000 and are devided up amongst 4 different styles. Sizes ranging from xs to xl.

I am starting to lean toward buying shirts and putting my own labels in. I know this company will be able to help me in the future but right now they just have too much going on. One thing they're dealing with is moving production to just south of the border in TJ. There are many companies in this area that do this type of work but finding them is the hard part. Most of them don't advertise.

Any other helpful info you can provide?

I would try Fred's tip above about the garment district and also I would try looking in the ApparelNews.net newspaper.

There are a lot of classifieds and fashion related ads that probably will help you locate local companies.

Hey Coolpet,

I have gone with Pacific Sports (pacificsportsinc.com) and Article 1 (article1store.com). Pacific Sports is great because you can get a quality Junior T (30/1) for $1.80 for white and $2.20 for colors (case price). Aritcle 1 is more the standard pricing you see around but they have a much better selection of womens shirts. And the sizing for Article one is somewhere between Juniors and your standard womens size. I think it's a happy medium but if you know your market is Juniors you may not want to go with them. There is also the frustration of not always having what I want in stock and that can be a business killer. But I think some of that is due to a transition period they're in with changing the manufacturing location. If you want to manufacture your own product PDQ Sewing in Santa Ana is a consideration. I initially was going with them but they were also in transition, changing their manufacturing from Santa Ana to TJ and it just became too big a headache. Hopefully things have smoothed out with them because I would love to manufacture my own product. They are a pretty big company with prices far below all the other manufacturers I looked at. They do everything from supplying the fabric, cutting, sewing, printing, etc. And for some of the biggest names in the business. You can contact the owner at [email address]. His name is Arthur.

I hope this helps you. And good luck on your new venture!
