Hi....1st post here...and this seemed like the best spot....wanted some opinions on Gildan brand tees in 100% cotton. Are they of decent quality for a one color simple screen print? If not what would be best that is reasonably priced.
The are a quality standard shirt. Many people would consider them the lowest acceptable quality for a commercial garment.
They have a very boxy look, with flared sleeves. There are in no way a fashion shirt, if that's what you're after. In a similar price bracket, the FOTL 50/50 has many fans.

"Decent" is subjective, but I'd say yes. They're certainly a very popular blank for standard promo shirts, cheaper startups, etc. They have their fans and their detractors, so it kind of depends what you're using them for.

I've worked in a shop for the past two years, and the Gildan Ultra is basically our good default shirt - it's a good quality shirt for the price; Gildan has a good color range, and the sizing is standard. it's not fashion fit or super-soft jersey or anything, but they hold up and lots of people like them.

I love the Gildan 2000 shirts. My only gripe with them is the sleeves are very long and flared (like someone mentioned above). Other than that, they hold up well.
One more thing, when you do place an order, make sure to order a few more than normal, as the coloured shirts almost always have oil drops on them. I'm super picky, so they go back for exchange or return.

Are you ordering direct from Gildan or a wholsaler? The wholesaler might be the cause of the oil.
I've been using FOTL Super Premium Weights but I thought I'd give the Gildan Ultra-T's a try. They're only a couple of pence cheaper but I've found them to be slightly bigger than the FOTL's. One thing I have noticed is that they're 95% cotton compared to the 100% FOTL's

We've noticed the same thing and most of the shirts we buy (Southern Belles) or use ourselves on custom jobs are Gildan Ultra 100% Cotton. They run bigger than say a Hanes and tend to shrink less. We do have others such as Anvil, Hanes and Jerzees to compare to in our inventory.
