I'm interested in looking into importing a product but don't know where to start. Has anyone done this before? Any good websites or other references? Any help would be appreciated.

There are some good tips and experiences posted here under the import search and importing search.

What specific questions do you have? That will help those who have experience know what kind of information to give.

With general questions it's often hard to give feedback or good info.

You're right, Rodney. That was a very general question it's just that I know so little about this subject. Here goes.

I guess the wise thing would be to use some sort of import broker or can one do it alone if one gets in contact with the company overseas ( probably doubtful for a first timer like myself).

Is there some sort of directory for companies that help small businsses that want to import say just one container at a time as demand arises. I realize there is going to be some lead time.

Also let's say I order a container full of this product can the container be delivered to my place and left with trailer and all? I have the room for it just not the means to unload upon arrival.

Maybe now I can get some better responses if anyone has any experience doing this. I know I have more question but this is a start. Maybe there's other who have similiar question. Feel free to add to my list of questions.
