Found a really cool American Appael alternative. Anyone heard of it?
Re: Found a really cool American Appael alternative. Anyone heard of it?
Well, I don't know about the quality of the product but I did some research on the company. They are partnered with Peace Textile, Inc. in S. Carolina and the sewing portion of their production process is outsourced to overseas contractors in order to achieve the "best quality and efficiency".

Now you know why the prices are better, apparently slave labor can produce higher quality garnments then fairly paid people
Please do not use this forum to bash other companies.
No where on the site does it say that they don't pay their employees fairly or that they use slave labor. It's not good to make potentially slanderous comments like that in a public forum.
Re: Found a really cool American Appael alternative. Anyone heard of it?
ok, you're right. That is an unfair assumption on my part. I guess I'm just suspicious is all but I don't have any sort of proof of such things. I appreciate your correcting me and will try to keep my suspicions to myself.
Re: Found a really cool American Appael alternative. Anyone heard of it?
Its unfair to pick on this company for outsourcing some of its labour when the majority of other t-shirt manufacturers (and textiles in general) outsource to 3rd world countries.
Its not like they claim to be 100% Sweat Shop Free or trying to deceive buyers.
Re: Found a really cool American Appael alternative. Anyone heard of it?
since when is outsourcing horrible?? if brands here wont step up and offer this quality except for aa or alt a and then look what they do go and blow it up in ur face with their pricing i think epac is great, i dont think these shirts cost more to make than any others and im certain the big names like hanes ftl etc outsource anyway
when we order arent we leaving our even more homebrand local distributors out of the picture? i certainly root more for mom and pop stores than big retailers
sur they give jobs... but at that premium price... mind you because they feel like charging us more, their shirts cost no more to make than a basic "fat" tee

Reason: removed company bashing
Re: Found a really cool American Appael alternative. Anyone heard of it?
someone bashing about slave labors, but that's not true, nowhere stilll have slaves but only have human being want to work for living with their family.
Shirts price composed by around 50% of raw material (cotton), USA is biggest cotton harvest and export country in the world, and chemical and transportation cost (25 %) and labor cost (25%).
My opinion is more important thing is what origin cotton t-shirts company used and how they set up quality control.
Expensive is good usally but not always...

Re: Found a really cool American Appael alternative. Anyone heard of it?
I'll try to answer the question as much as I know. Ringspun has combed and karded 2 different quality.
combed ringspun - use long staple cotton(can make yarn with less twisted) and purified process of cotton so very clean fabric face and excellent natural softness.
carded ringspun - lower grade than combed (most of import yarn from asia)
ESW - Extra Soft Washed - make the shirts with silicone washed afbric cut at sewing. Fabric treated double silicone wash means long last keep gagrment softness until 10-12 times laundry wash.
Beside that advantage this style is shrinke and twist(torque) free garment because fabric cut been washed already.
Soft spun - this is made in USA yarn brand which is improved softness than open end karded USA yarn.
Most of Texas grown(mean inland grown) cotton is good for this quality.
Yarn spinner developed this technology to make yarn more soft.
Color heather - this is blended yarn with cotton and polyester.
pacspo said they use 60:40 blended yarn of USA softspun to alternative 30/1 color heather, this product is price advantage compare with imported 30/1 kprs 50:50 blend. The ratio of blended has spinner's decision.
paypal - ask to them by email.
I think I could not explain vry well but I'll post if you have more question, bye.

They are 100% cotton.
This is the info I got from epacificsports about the ESW and other tees:
SILICON TREATED
“BIO-finish” is what other companies refer as silicon treated. Our “BIO finish” is the combination of fabric enzyme treatment with silicon wash. All of our dischargeable t-shirts are "BIO-finished" product. Moreover, “BIO-finish” achieves the softness that enhances the breathable cotton wearable with pleasure. Softness achieved by “BIO-finish” sets the standard in the markets which many customers demand nowadays. Both PM30V and PM30 styles are “BIO-finished” goods and weigh 5.1 oz and 4.8 oz respectively.
ESW (Extra Soft Wash)
All our ESW t-shirts are fabric washed before sewing production to prevent torque and shrinkage of garment. These washed goods are then silicon washed. After sewing, garments receive two different treatments: before and after dyeing process for the ultimate softness of the product. PM30ESW is mainly targeted for high-end customers and it weighs 4.6 oz. Even though PM30ESW weighs less than PM30V and PM30, by reducing the weight we were able to come up with virtually free of shrinkage and torque which plays as an important role for t-shirts buyers.

I recommend trying all 3 I prefer the ESW though.

Sure, it's worth a try to see them in person. It's hard to judge a tee by what it looks like online.

There are "add to cart" buttons on every page of their site where they show products. You just type in the quantity you want and click "add to cart". The full checkout process is on their site and when you're done, you get directed to PayPal to pay. You don't have to have a PayPal account to pay through there.
Re: Found a really cool American Appael alternative. Anyone heard of it?
Well i got my order in today. 48 USA Spun t-shirtsw which have been constructed very well.
Also got my samples of PM30 and PM30ESW. The ESW is definately very soft to touch. The slim fit is nice and the tearaway tags are way easier to tear then AAA tearaways.
I think I'll be moving from AAA to Pacific Sports now. Love the slim fit, softer feel, better tearaway tags and for almost the same price.
Only downside is that the the t-shirts are 'Assembled in Haiti'. I thought they were made in USA but they're not so you cant really say this is an AA alternative unfortunately.
