Thumbs up Anvil introducues a new organic cotton t-shirts

I just got an email from Alpha accouncing Anvil's entry into the world of organic/eco-friendly materials.

https://rs990.alphashirt.com/cgi-bin...ail.w?sr=or420

Quote:
OR420 Anvil 5 oz. 100% Organic Cotton T-shirt

Anvil organic tee. Short sleeve 5.0 oz. 100% Organic Cotton. Shoulder to shoulder tape. Seamless collarette. Double needle sleeve and bottom hem. Pre shrunk. White and Natural are sewn with cotton thread.
Color Chart Sizes: XS, S, M, L, XL, 2XL, 3XL, 4XL
It's not always easy to find an organic cotton t-shirt in larger sizes, so that's a nice benefit as well. Has anybody seen this shirt in person yet?

Aaagghhh, this is one week too late... I was looking for a red XXXL organic t-shirt last week, finally ordered just a plain cotton one from Alpha! Thanks for letting us know - I'll definitely try to get some with my next order from A!

And it is not that expensive! A bit less than my other sources for organic. Now I'd like to find out where and how it is made - do you think I should just contact Anvil?

I've received quite a few samples and they are standard tees. Nice colors, generous sizing, preshrunk. Labels are sewn in under the taping.

There's some info in the press release on Anvil's site here:
Anvil Knitwear 2007

But yeah, I would contact them directly if you needed more details.

Jiffyshirts.com, who lists their prices on their website and does not require a reseller number lists the Anvil Organic White for $3.78. Colors for $4.27. They also offer free shipping for orders above $99. Unfortunately, they are completely out of these shirts at the moment. All colors. They had quite a few yesterday.

Some other distributors have slightly lower prices. But it seems like the supply is shaky. I haven't been able to find natural color large or XL for nearly 2 weeks now.

do you know for a fact this shirt is 100% organic? the best i could find around these parts are 6% organic, 94% domestic, but yet the co. selling these shirts call them "100 % organic cotton" shirts. i guess the ad is misleading, yes the cotton used is 100% organic, but the shirt is only 6% organic blended with 94% domestic. - Edski.

Anvil recycled cotton blend shirts are now available from some distributors. I should be receiving my first shipment from Alpha tomorrow.

Did you ever find out that information about Anvil Organic Tees? Also, do you happen to know where they get the organic cotton from? I am looking into finding a company with an ASI certification. Thoughts?
