So I got a (Product)Red shirt from Gap. It is made from 100% African Cotton in Lesotho, Africa. I am interested in creating a non-profit music festival with profits going to non-profit organizations giving aid to African countries/peoples. I thought that of maybe using an organic shirt, but Africa made would be even better. Anyone know how I could order African made tees?
BTW the shirts are awesome, super soft, have great designs, and are for an awesome cause. 50% of profits go to AID's/HIV prevention in Africa.

Thanks for the help.
I have the info. It is from a factory in Lesotho:
Lesotho Precious Garments factory. Couldn't figure out how to contact them. But this may be the same one: check out Bono's brand, Edun:
Edun.ie, they basically print at the a factory called Clothing Zone - Butha Buthe, in Lesotho, 4 hrs from JHB.
I have the contact at Edun (she is in Ireland) that you can order blanks from - African cotton (I think from Tanzania), I think it is the same Ts that the ONE t-shirts were printed on - they sold at $40 each... I got samples of the blanks, I wasn't impressed, and it only came in black, white, and they were working on natural. So I decided not to go that way. PM me and I can give you her email.

the US has a trade agreement with certain east african countries called agoa - African growth and oppurtunities act. the US will waive customs import duty for products manufactured/originating from countries like kenya. you can get more info on African Growth and Opportunity Act (AGOA) - Home Page. i may be able to get you some contacts in kenya if you need them
Sorry to drudge up an old topic but I have a question along the same lines. I, too, am interested in printing on african made t-shirts. I ordered 4 sample blanks from Edun live, Bono's company mentioned above. I loved the feel of the cotton but I hated the fit of the shirt. The hemline at the bottom was about 2" shorter than I am used to. The bottom of the shirt fell right at the top of my belt loops and I imagine it will only get shorter after washing. I wonder if these shirts aren't stylized more towards the european market because their fit is very different to what I am used to out here in California.
BTW I tested both Edun's male gender specific and unisex style T's.
Are there any other african cotton shirts available besides Edun?
Welcome to the forums! I noticed the wierd cut on some african made garments. I havn't purchased the Edun Live stuff because I was concerned with the fit. It looks like a wide cut and I guess according to you short also. I don't know of any other companies that sell African tees. Good luck.
I am not aware of any other african cotton t-shirt suppliers.
But i also noticed that with the edun live t-shirts. They are so soft and great quality but i also found them short fitting.
I enquired about this a few weeks ago and they said that they have revized the fit and that they will be in stock very soon, they also said they are introducing new styles and colors early next Spring too.
I heard that Edun now have numerous color blanks. Does anyone know if their fit changed too? I really didn't like the fit of the ones I got 2 years ago, but that was when they just started selling blank Ts.

Monthertongues, any new updates on Edun's new and improved t-shirts? If you have their contact information, I don't mind contacting them in order to get a sample.
