I struggle hard with pricing and I'm always too low. So far I've only done vehicle lettering for friends so I've never ade a profit on it. I just charge them for materials.
I was wondering what some people charge to do 3 sets 18 x 22 one color. I use Oracal 651.
They also want 4 32 x 15 1/2 All white background with the same logo and lettering layered on top. I'd use Oracal 651 on this as well.
I could really use some guidance.

Reason: edited number of pieces
So, I'm thinking $109.08 for each set of decals. He wants 3 sets and maybe $75.34 for each of the other 4 larger ones he wanted that are actually 2 color. It'd be $628.60 for all 10.
I,m sure others might give you different advise, however when I,m not sure of pricing, what I do is calculate the cost of my material, add my houry rate for the time taken to do the job and then add 50% profit.
Just my opinion.

Thanks for the reply, but I'm not sure how long it's going to take me to do the job. At this point I'm just getting into vehicle lettering. I don't want to charge too much and discourage business, but I don't want to work for free either.
Those numbers are calculated from my production time, materials and desired profit over labor projections. Your own costs, ie overhead will dictate what you need to charge making my opinion worthless to you. You need to figure your own numbers.

We've been in the vinyl sign business ofr 8 years. I use the price per sq ft. rule, which I feel normally covers your time also. Take the width x height, gives you total inches of design; then divide by 144, which gives you the sq. ft.; then times it by $16-$18 per sq. ft. for 1 color; Doing two colors then I add $6 per sq ft, being $22-$24. So if I were doing it, then 32 x 15.5 = 496 in. divided by 144 = 3.4444 sq. ft, x $22 = 75.77 per decal. It's the rule of thumb we found when we started out. We have also found out that larger sign companies charge a lot more, but we have kept our customers happy and doing business locally with these prices. This is for just lettering or logo going on windows or vehicles. Price goes up if we are doing a sign on material such as aluminum or c-plast. If I am to do all the artwork on a logo, then I also charge an hourly rate of $50 to get the artwork to vector art that is ready to cut. Good luck , T
Thanks so much. That information was so helpful. I really appreciate it. It's hard when you're just starting out on something to know where to be. Atleast now I know I'm within reason. I know demographics plays a part in the value of things, but now I have a starting point and can adjust the formula for my area. Thanks again!!!
those price sound decent for 15.5 make sure you have 24 inches vinyl... if you have 15 inches vinyl could cut up to 14 wide.
depending where you are from prices varies... But 2 color 32 X15 around $60 is ok.. Since you will have problem putting the 2 colors together. I usually charge $10 per feet.
Why would there be a problem putting 2 colors together? or4 or 6 for that matter?
My experience, there really is not a problem is putting, 2, 3,4, or 8 colors together, but the design time and depending on if you are working with outlines, background, etc. It is more time consuming, depending on the layout. The first few times working with several colors takes longer, but after a while you figure out how to cut the different colors where you don't waste as much vinyl, because there is waste, you can bet on it. If I have a design that is several colors, I use 24" vinyl, and say the design will cut 22", I charge for the full 24, because normally you can't run that scrap back though for another job. It's not a problem, just have to learn the method that works best for you. There is a lot of trail and error in the learning curve, just like anything else.
