I am having problems getting clean cuts. the vinyl keeps getting raised up from the backing.
I am using the blade that came with my roland gx24 and using Mac Tac 8300pro Intermediate 5 year outdoor vinyl.
I have tried several cutting speeds and upspeeds. along with cutting force and smoothing off and on.
I am trying to cut decals for the head stock of custom made guitars and need to cut it around 3.5 inches in width.
Is this too fine of a detailed logo for the Roland gx24 to cut?
I have attached a jpg and an eps. Any help on this would be greatly appreciated.
Thank you in advance.

Re: Roland GX24 Problem cutting small detailed logo
I have had one of these type jobs before. What I did is slow the speed down as much my cutter would let me and did a couple of test cuts with the downforce. Finally I was able to cut at 70 grams and 12 speed with no problem and the blade was new. Your cutter will be different try slowest then test . . . then change the downforce then test. Until you get what you want.
Re: Roland GX24 Problem cutting small detailed logo
i would also check my cut in depth, lessen that and slow down to 5 cm. it cut fine for me but i was using a 60 deg blade with.300 offset.let me know if you get it ill keep thinking.....
Re: Roland GX24 Problem cutting small detailed logo
This is where "cutter voodoo" comes into play. I just finished a decal and shirt job for a local company. The text on their logo was larger and bolder than the text on my logo yet, for some reason, it proved harder to cut and weed than mine does. I mucked about with the speed and pressure setting and eventually got it be fairly painless (but still rather annoying). You might also want to try a comparable vinyl from a different manufacturer. There's going to be some experimenting in a case like this but with a little work, you can get it right.
If the cutter is having consistent problems (tearing/peeling/etc in the same place) you might try isolating that part of the design and just using that for test cuts while you tweak. If the problems are inconsistent then it will be more difficult. Eliminate parameters one at a time until you can narrow down what's causing it - once you have that you can probably find a good work-around.
