Question Newbie here wanting to learn about vinyl and vinyl cutters

Hello Everybody. I have searched for the correct place to post my questions, please forgive me for the first post!

A little about what I'm looking to understand: I would like to be able to make things like car decals and vehicle wraps. I would'nt be working with a large vehicle, something the size of a motorcycle. From what I've learned so far there are many types of vinyl that comes on rolls, so I'd need a good supplier for vinyl. Is there a good company or persons that sell rolls wholesale prices for example that everyone uses? The walmart of vinyl?

1: If I am looking to just do simple decals and stickers what would be the best contour cutter for the job? I am not sure what the "major" brands are.... nothing wider then about 4 feet.

2: What price range do I look into for someone with no experience using this kind of equipment?

3: I am a graphics artist and I use vector graphics very often in my work, which contour cutter gives me the most flexibility? I wouldn't mind doing t-shirts but my main interest is in using vinyl that comes on the roll.

4: The type of vinyl I am wanting to work with is the "Wrap" material for cars... Do I need a special printer to work with type of material?

Thank you all for your time

For the "wrap" vinyl, you'll likely need a vinyl (solvent-ecosolvent) printerand cutter. The roland line of products seems to be the standard for the less than an arm and a leg expensive ones. If you want good and a little cheaper, try a printer with a seperate cutter( mutoh printer with a matching cutter) and you'll need a laminator too for either setup. Good luck.
