Re: Cheap Starter/Trial Vinyl?? Oracal 651 is fairly inexpensive and is a commonly used vinyl for general purpose signs. You can probably buy a house brand at your local sign supply place on the cheap, but unless you're getting into reflective or signgold, most vinyl is easily affordable. My opinion would be: Get a roll of 651 white or black, use it to learn, you will more than likely use what's left over for a job as well. You should be able to get a few sample rolls from Oracal themselves for free.
Remember, you may be paying for something that is tough to apply/install or tough to cut when you go with the cheapest, which will only serve to hinder your learning more than help it.
P.S. I'm posting about sign vinyl since this is the sign section, if this is in regards to t-shirt vinyls, you may be best off contacting Josh at Imprintables about their Eco-film line. They have a post under the Preferred Vendor section of this forum. |
