Has anyone used Oracal 631 on an interior wall? Are there any special application instructions when applying vinyl on an interior wall or do you use the same method as applying any other type of vinyl like on a sign or window? Also, I have masking tape that I use for regular sign vinyl...is that too strong for the interior vinyl or will it tear it? Thanks!
Nope you do it the same way you apply any other vinyl, as for the transfer tape, I use med tack tape which works fine for 631 along with everything else I do.
Oracal actually came out with a transfer tape specifically for 631 and I got a sample of it and it worked excellent.

Thanks for your help! I think I will try and get a sample too. Maybe you could help with another question....I am making a sign that says the company name that is going on the wall. He also wants a border that will butt against the corner of the wall that will come out about 15" wide and then go down about 7' feet long. I don't want to cut it by hand because I can't cut a straight line for anything! So how do I tell the cutter to cut a straight line 15" across and 7"feet long so I will have a nice and straight border? Thanks! Still learning!
I have applied this material to a textured wall and it has come out great~!!! just have to be patient with it. . . use a med tack transfer tape and you are good to go.

Hey David...
What is the name of this transfer tape? Is there a big enough difference in using this tape vs. say a med. tack tape? Can it be used for other applications as well?
I'm just wondering if I need to have another transfer tape just for 631 or if a med tack will be just fine?
Thanks!
John

I don't think it's necessary, but it does seem to be really sweet. I got a sample roll from them and did a small design and put it on my wall and it peeled off better then my standard med tack transfer tape.
Go to the link I posted and request a sample, they will send you a 6" wide roll....probably about 10ft long.
So what you are saying is I could make any size square in my SignBlazer then when I go to cut it tell the cutter to cut it 15" x 7'?
in signblazer or whatever program open new doc. and in the blank field make the size box you want or stripe etc. with winpc that we use, the blank field size isn't that important for this as the cutter will cut the size of graphic. the hieght perhaps is most important so you know where your cutter will begin to cut. i hope this dosn't sound more confusing.
Hi John,
I was wondering if you have ever used Preview Plus GXF101 from Signwarehouse. I'm a newbie and just tried some artwork out with cutting it on a frineds printer. She's new as well and when I got home some of it was able to release and some stuck to the backing paper. Oracal said it might be her cutting too deep and pulling some of the silicone into the cuts. I used sample of 631 and HT55. Her cutter is Procut. I was serching Google on the problem when I came across this Release tape (GXF101) and thought I'd try it however I'm not sure if it's her cutter or the tape. It is a clear release tape and looks promising but I don't want to order 100 yards of it and not be happy. Of course they don't have samples so I can try it first! What kind of cutter do you use if you don't mind me asking? I'm lloking to purchase one rather than have her do the cutting.
