My husband and I have recently started doing shirts and are looking into purchasing a plotter. I was doing some searching and noticed that there are a lot of different types of signs we could make. One that caught our eye are the aluminum signs that look like a street sign or a highway sign. Where do you buy that kind of aluminum or material for the sign? Any help I could get on vendors or other ideas to do with a plotter/cutter would be fantastc. Thank you!
Most sign supply companies will sell those signs to you. I know i have a local company that is AWESOME! They will cut any aluminum substrate for me for a minimal fee that helps keep me from buying a large saw to cut them myself. I would just google sign supply companies and see if there is one local. If not there are MANY national sign supply companies you can most likely google!
Thank you for your response. Is this something you can buy from just a company that sells aluminum, or are the signs somehow coated or something? We have saws and equipment at the company I work for and I was wondering if I could just buy a sheet of aluminum or not. Thanks again!

and so on. the list is almost endless. those are the three I use the most as they always have what I need in stock and ready to ship. You can also try www.signwarehouse.com but I usually have to wait for at least one item on my order because it is on back order. Any way just my 2 cents.

You can do back lit signs, coroplast signs, vinyl lettering on cars and is you bought a sand blaster for a few hundred bucks, you can cut special sand blasting vinyl to do those fairly easily
Street signs are tough to get into because there are so many big companies that offer pre-made ones for next to nothing
Wensco Sign Supply is located right on West River Dr. in Grand Rapids, about a mile and a half north of the stadium. They are an awesome company to work with. And they deliver in the West Michigan area for free for orders over $250.

I'll have to do a search for all those types of signs. I can't picture what the sandblasting would do. We do have access to one so I'll have to look into that. Not sure what a backlit sign is also, but sounds interesting. Thanks!
back lit umm like signs with light box... alot of times people wanna redo the facing on them : )
easy to install usually if it ain't to high
Sandblasting is done by cutting special vinyl that will leave material facing un blasted while rest is indented
go to this site and you can basically do same thing with practice ofcourse : )
