Bad news: I would need to upgrade my equipment and I'm not sure what I need!
A customer is requesting a sticker much like the apple stickers sent out with all apple product. The apple sticker appears to me to be a clear vinyl with a white apple logo printed on it, then contour cut. The edges of the sticker are clear and the apple logo will scratch off if you try.
What machine could produce this sticker? Is it UV resistant? What vinyl should I be using?
Anyone with info, Please Help! Your time is much appreciated!

I believe Gerber machines do these...some Roland Printers have white ink options but I heard it's not as good as the other method.

If you could get your registration dots printed correctly, I'm pretty sure you can get a cutter with an optical eye to contour cut sheets that you screen print. I have never done this, but in theory it should work.....

ffkozak's suggestion are one of them. Yes I've worked with Roland print n cut printers, but you won't get any transparent edges with this, cos you'll be printing onto white based vinyls.
I suppose the apple stickers (though I've not seen them) sounds like they're being white stamped (the scratching off part) via offset printing. Or it could be a white varnish even.
One method that I know of would be to go do it via silkscreen. Check with your silkscreen suppliers.

What are the specs for this job? I've actually applied a design cut in white sign vinyl with a roland gx-24, weeded out the unneeded areas, applied a clear laminate film and then cut these into 2 x 2 decals, much like the apple stickers that come with ipods. Does that make sense for your needs?
