Default Re: Decal Display

I just had to do a display last week for my booth. I sell a large variety of items so I got a "bin" that is 8.5 x 8.5. my widest decal is 8". I used black matboard as dividers between each design and I put the decal on the black to show clearly how it will look on glass. At the top I put the name of the decal and its price. Now customers can flip through the display looking at all the designs and then reach in behind to get the one(s) they want. I took pictures of what the vinyl looks like on the mat board, but they are at home now, I will post a few tonight. One could also buy smoked plex in a large sheet and put a bunch of decals on it. I am thinking of doing that for next year and it can lean, or hang up below the decal box.

You might want to find a local sign supplier, they may have some extra plex/acrylic sitting around. Generally acrylic comes in sheets ranging from 4'x8', 2'x4', 2'x2' and 1'x2'.

One of my previous employers used the following companies:
Montroy (Montroy Sign Supplies - Products - Home)
Johnson Plastics (Webb Distributors)
GE Polymershapes (SABIC Polymershapes Home Page) I think they changed names or something as google brings it up as SABIC

I personally have ordered some supplies from Johnson Plastic and haven't had any issues, but I haven't ordered any acrylic yet (mostly sublimation and some nameplates).

Manny, the folks at my events are dressed up in English breeches or are wearing skin tight western show clothes and I would be very put out if they didn't have the money to pay for a $5 decal if they can afford to show a horse. I sell many smaller items that sit out all weekend and so far I have not had anything palmed.../knock on wood. Who knows with the current economy Regardless, I still like the idea of smoked plexi with all decals attached, I think it would look nice. I would even want to frame the plexi with a nice wood (it would also keep the edges protected in transport). One thing to watch for if you are mobile is that plexi scratches easily.

I sell One color cut decals for car windows.
These are cut in white Oracal 651.
For a display I use 3 foot by 10 foot Black banners the white decals shows up great on this.
I have a neon color number near each decal and a file system using envelopes and milk crates.

The banner idea is what I would suggest but you literally cant put everything you can make on display. Its better to have some examples with a banner saying what you offer. I love decal bins and folks rummaging through them to find what they like. It keeps folks around your booth and open for conversation. 8" decals one for 5 three for 10 is what we do and those bins usually pay for the event and open the door for custom graphics.

The plexi glass that I have found has been at the local lumber store (Lowe's, Home Depot etc.) There you can have them cut it for you. My kids kept breaking my glass for the light table/exposure unit so I went plexi for this and 4 years later still working like a champ.
