This is my first post yet I've been reading the contents of the Forum for a number of months. I've just received my new Roland GX-24 from Imprintables Warehouse and I need to purchase some vinyl in assorted colors, textures and finishes yet my wife keeps reminding me that we haven't any customers yet. I received 4 rolls of heat press (EcoFilm) with my new system but I'm wondering if any of the seasoned professionals out there can help a chronologically old rookie to find a place where I can purchase vinyl by the sheet so I can get a number of colors for testing and practice. I'd like to buy both sign vinyl and heat pressable vinyl.
Thank you in advance for any help you can offer. Wish me luck, I'll need it. We're a pen and gift company that has added trophy's (we own a laser too) and now sublimating and a vinyl cutter.
In my opinion they have the best glitter product on thn market. ..... JB

Hello and !
Specialty Graphics sells heat applied vinyl for apparel by the foot so you can spend little to get testing done. They sell sign vinyl as well but it does not appear to be by the foot. But, does not hurt to contact them and ask!
The bigger question is what kind of vinyl are you looking for to play with, heat-press or sign vinyl?
I've seen a bunch of cheap sign vinyl starter packages on flea-bay that would probably good to use for testing....
Thank you very much for your help. I'm looking to purchase both. I would like to try 2 and 3 colors on a T-Shirt and also the metallic or shiny type. I also would like to try doing vehicle graphics with 2 and 3 colors so I can learn about registration marks and their positioning. UTube has a great video on this but the guy went so fast I had to watch it about a thousand times. Needless to say, the electrons aren't moving throught this brain like they used to!
Imprintables Warehouse has sample packs the sell of the different types of materials...
For sign vinyl, the cheapest 'packages' I've seen are on flea-bay. Do a search on vinyl starter kit, there's a couple of fairly reasonably priced kits to start with. As long as they are using Avery or Oracal vinyl, you should be good to start...
Forgot to mention that the HPU has a softer hand feel than the HPV. I just finished making some t-shirts for some friends and are very happy with them , They thought the shirts were screen printed. LOL

Thanks very much for this info. I was on their site to place an order for the HP-U and noticed that they only had a handful of colors that were available by the 12" x 19" size. I emailed them and are optimistic that I will be able to order many of their colors in smaller quantities.
