Backlit Outdoor Sign: Advice Needed Hi everyone! So, here's the situation. I have a friend with a hair salon that wants me to redo her backlit signs on the outside of her store. She wants to reuse the existing substrates in order to save her some $. One problem is that the other side of the sign has already been used once. There are two sign boxes both with two 4'x2' sheets in them. Here are my questions:
1. Should I try to remove the existing vinyl and reuse the existing substrates or convince her that new sheets are needed?
2. I've been reading about using translucent vinyl for backlit signs. Would this be Oracal 8500?
3. Is there anywhere I can order small amounts of Oracal if I only need, say, a foot or two of a certain color?
4. How can I find out if there is a local sign supply house within driving range of my house? I live in zip code 01013 if anyone knows how to search for this. Especially if I need to replace the plexi. I've looked online and the S&H is crazy due to the size of it so if I could pick it up locally it would be that much cheaper.
Thanks everyone. This is my first bigger job so I want to do it as best as I can.
