Ya know i looked and looked at this banner and couldnt think of why it was bothering me so.. I knew something was not right.. but.. Its been a long week..

Its the red on the black.. ..
You should never put red on black for a sign or banner..
matter of fact there is a old saying.. with sign painters.. which goes..
*red on black will make me hack * lol
not a very pleasant picture.. but.. you get the idea.

I had doubts about the red on the black. The banner itself is semi-matte. The cut red vinyl is Oracal red. Believe it or not.. the red is bright enough and does "pop" pretty well. With the bright white and the bright red... the letter practically jump off the banner.

I'll have to post a photo of the actual banner tonight when I go home.

Sue... Don't worry about it... I can take criticism... especially from people who have been doing it longer than I have.
I appreciate the input. Thank you everyone!

It was something "quick and dirty". Didn't want to spend too much time or material on it since it was on the house. They were easy to please. There are lots of musicans and artist in this group of people that will be attending this event. It gets me out there and hopefully people will be looking for someone who does this sort of thing.

I think it looks good. I understand the red on black is a no-no, but I think it suits the genre.

Hey Lou, it looks good! Did good and wish you much success.

I heard an old saying from this elderly sign painter one time, he was drunk as cooter brown (whoever that is, maybe that was his name) when he was telling me, but he say: "Red on Black will bring the banner back. Black on red will keep yo belly fed."...........

Just kidding, I never knew a drunk elderly painter, but I thought it was funny when he said it anyways, hehehee.

Seriously though....
Think it is a design standard to use the lighter color as the background, but hey the other way works just fine if you ask me.(Sometimes) k, 'nuff blabbing, babbling...woohoo too much sugar baby!!

P.S. FYI..Opinions are like banners..sometimes their way longer than they should be and you really can't understand what their trying to say!
