I just did 24 window decals out of oracal 651 vinyl and I was wondering what I should have charged. I charged $40.00 total. I'm new at this so I guessed. 12 words were 1.5"by 24" and 12 words were .75by 9.5" Reading (Thanks 4 The Memories) The #4 was two color. Thanks For any help.
You lost me, are you saying you did 24 seperate decals and charged $40.00 for the whole thing? 12 of them being 1.5"x24" and 12 being .75"x9.5" with all of them saying Thanks 4 the Memories and the 4 was dual color?
If that is what you're saying I would of been around $60.00.
Too cheap if you had to do two colors. If everything was all one color and the fonts were easy to weed you might get away with $40. We get a lot of people wanting to get 1/2" or 3/4" stuff, but we bill everything to at least 1" tall.
Profit is not a dirty word, make sure you get paid for what you do. Material cost + shop fees + profit = price ..... JB

Yep $60-100 would be more like it. I usually calculate of material first then add in design and production fee(shop cost). My overhead is calculated into my per hour rate shop cost, so I pro-rate the hour if it isn't a full hour for design but I have a minimum of $20 because it takes that long to set up and get into the "design Mode" and then the production cost is added in there as well. So if it takes me .5 hours to design that's $30 dollars.
If you don't have quickbooks, or Estimate or something like that I would recommend getting either or both. You can set them up to do estimates and see quickly what you need to charge.
