Good Afternoon

Which vinyl would be better for a 13 oz. banner...Oracal 651 or 751 ? It will have medium use outside......

651 would work great for banners. That's all I use on banners.

I actually use the store brand vinyl from sign-mart for banners.. its called permagloss ..
its an intermediate vinyl and We use it alot..
I have banners that have been up for 3-5 years that the vinyl still looks brand new on..

I get my oracal from Sign Making, Sign Supplies, Vinyl Cutters, Sign Cutters, Vinyl Banners, Wide Format Color Printers, Laser Engraversbut there are more out there that carry it.

i am confused...i know that you have to use a special kind of vinyl for banners...is oracal 651 ok for banners?

Most ANY vinyl will work on banners, it's just how good of vinyl you want to use.

631: 3 yr. vinyl
641: 4 yr. vinyl
651: 6 yr. vinyl
751: 7 yr vinyl
851 8 yr. vinyl

That's how Oracal rates their's, other companies use similar.

but i know that oracal has the 451 vinyl, which is presented as banner vinyl, especially created for flexible substrates.
and i know Avery has a similar product.

I've not heard of the 451 but they also have the 631 (3 yr) and 641 (4 yr). I just go with the 651 in our shop unless someone wants better, that way I don't have so much inventory.
