ok. another customer asked me almost the same thing: to partially wrap his car, a normal size sedan.
....i outsourced the job and watched how they did it.
they used oracal 651....hmm
i really believe i can do it.
i will give it a try on my car first.

Well right off the bat they used the wrong vinyl. There is a big difference between a wrap and a graphic.

The boat looked like a simple stripe above and below the bumper rail. Problem is the bumper rail needs to be removed and it might be rivited as this is where the deck and hull are joined in construction.

Believe me its not as easy as it looks when someone else does it..
If your really interested in learning to wrap.. vehicles.. your best bet is going to one of the wrap classes..
they are offered by alot of the major suppliers..

I totally agree with Susan. I am blown away by some of the intricate wraps out there. You learn real fast a square doesnt fit in a round hole.

i know they used the wrong vinyl and i am also convinced that it is easyer to watch than to do it yourself.

what can i say - yesterday i tried my first wrap.
i used oracal 641, a domestic hair drier and i partially succeded.
i mean i partially wrapped an old phone receptor, while listening to the tv election debates

Haha, you should try wrapping a stapler. Those are more difficult. A stapler wrapped in sparkley blue vinyl makes a great gift, you know.

you need a special vinyl for vehicle wraps and its an art to putting it on... it's a wise choice to pass on the boat...

I hope that was a rap class and not a wrap class or that is very disappointing news for the rest of us interested in learning to wrap

I learned the hard way a few weeks ago trying to put 8" stripes on the front of a 68 camaro. $700.00 in the trash. The car shop mechanic after the fact said "I didn't think it could be pulled off." I have done panal vans and small decals for vehicles but anything with scoops, flares etc. takes alot of practice and not one I will jump at again. It's rough to throw that much money in the trash and not even my trash.....
