Default ? on cutting sign vinyl

Good Morning......

Cutting some Oracal 851...some of the lettering is a little small......when I go to weed some of the lettering is pulling up with the scrap vinyl..
I am using 90# downforce on a GX24....maybe more pressure? Less pressure? weeding box around lettering?

TIA
Margaret

You also can try slowing the speed a little and using a 30 degree blade.

You should be fine with a 45 degree blade and 90 pressure. You can increase the pressure but it really should be ok. The vinyl you are using is pretty thin compared to a low end vinyl. Its kinda the nature of the beast when weeding super small fonts. Some weed like butter and some will make you pull your hair out.

What size are you talking? Anything under a 1/4" is going to be troublesome. When cutting smaller text it is more important to make sure you are cutting the correct depth more so than on larger text! Also a 60 deg. blade can help!

For real small stuff I use a 60deg blade and slow down my speed.

Well Folks.......

Thanks for answering yet another ? from me.....

I ended up slowing down the speed and leaving the force as it was....been working better and getting a cut that is working pretty much on anything I have been doing..even fine lettering is going A LOT better.

Thanks again
Margaret
