Default Summa DC4 vs Roland SP 540, need advice

Looking to make this jump in the next few days. Both are very nice but with the Roland you need a laminator.

Anyone that has used both? Just need a little direction, pros and cons of both machines. Thanks

Well the Summa looks all fine and dandy...but what sold me on the Roland was...1.It's a Roland...and our GX24 is the bomb.2...cost to operate....the thermal system on the Summa doesnt go as far as the ink system on the Roland...true..cleaning is an issue...but the cost is minimal. 3.Roland is more popular and widely used overall than Summa...so it makes things easier if question arise. 4. Resale...Roland will win hands down.

Ultimately it's your choice...but the VP 540 fit our order better than the Summa!

Hi,

To get a real handle on things go to signs 101 forum or the signs forum, and see what the sign boys are using..
