Question 3M Camoclad in AZ

Where would I buy 3M Camoclad (Temporary) in Arizona?

Every place that I have found sells kits for quads and rangers and such.
(obviously resellers)

I’ve got a contact requesting a wrap on a Powerstroke 4x4,
to which he added an insulated u-haul box.

Sleep in the box, hunt the deer, drag the deer in the box, then u-haul him home, I guess.

Anyways....
So even a full size truck kit will not work for this customer.
I need this by the roll
And I need it “over the counter”

Because looking at the pictures, we can’t quite tell what will work in the Arizona high country.
(pine, pinion, but also a lot of grassland)
I think the snow camo looks great, but its not practical,
as we never know what our blessing of snow will be from year to year.

If someone can point me in the right direction,
I’m going into Phoenix tomorrow and I’d like to get some samples for my contact.

Thanks in advance,
Don

I recomend Fellers. They carry Camo Skin up to 54" wide. I would probably go with the Mossy Oak print. It is a good all around pattern. Dont forget to laminate and use wrap primer if you want it to last. I have done a lot af these. I am also a hunter. Good luck.

Thanks for the link, that's what I’m lookin for.....

I thought Camoclad was already laminated?
Aren’t there two products one temporary and one permeant?

Who makes camo skin?

Camo Skin is printed on AveryMPI 2mil cast vinyl. It does not come laminated. They also carry Camo Clad that is printed on 3M control tac and comes laminated. But I think the largest it comes is 47.5" X 62" sheets. I would contact Fellers and see what they recomend. How long does the customer expect it to last? What is the customers budget for the job? That will help determine what to go with. You can also have your own camo fill printed on the vinyl of your choice. Is this going on a new $50,000 rig or an old beater?
My opinion is there is no logical "Hunting" reason for having a camo truck. I think he just wants it to look cool. If he doesnt care what it will look like in 4 years and doesnt think he will be selling the rig and he is made of money then he should go for it. He can buy a lot of meat for what this wrap is going to cost. Just make sure he knows the risks so there is no dissapointment later on.
Good luck and keep us posted.

Don,

I sent you an email with that link (fellers) and some other info on it as well. Did you get it? If not, let me know and I will resend the info.

Thumbs up Re: 3M Camoclad in AZ

Ya, the trucks in excellent mechanical shape, but this is an alternative to repainting it for him.
It’s one of the auctioned off contractors trucks that we get a lot of out here.
He’s a dieselhead like me. So he doesn’t plan to get rid of it anytime in the next 10 years....
I think he is aware it’s not permeant, as he is asking about changing it a few seasons out.
But I will reinforce that information to him.

Stopped by Fellers today in Phoenix. Basically customer pick up only, so I’ll have to call for more info.
Ray Lucero was in the shop and was a great help. (need a thumbs up graphic, for the good guy's)

But for Phoenix, it appears this stuff is special order only, as there was none in stock.
And their catalog does not display all the patterns I’ve seen online.
Maybe they are special-Special order.

I’m confused about whether 3M Camoclad is the permeant style.
(have to remove with a grinder)
Or the temporary style
(just peal back, and remove residue)

While were on the subject, there’s no logical reason for most of the equipment on most of the hunting rigs, 4x4’s and dune cars out here.
But if they are willing to part with their $$$.
I’m gonna be there to scoop it up, as long as I can give them a quality job.

JPD,
Um, no e-mail.
PM me with the address you have, and I’ll check it.

Don
