The Roland GX-24 can also do contour cutting. Here's a video about it:

I think I'm going to sell the black cat cougar, (unless I can the software) I've never used it, as I don't think I can get the software for it, its more of a craft cutter. where would you recommed to buy the Roland GX-24 and roughly the cost of it and which sofeware it use, does it come with it or do you have to buy it.

I recently picked my gx-24 up for right around 2k with stand/shipping.
I have had cheaper cutters and my roland blows everything I have used out of the water.. ease of setup/registration is worth it alone. I had hours of setup in my old cutter, and had to readjust weekly. Roland was pretty much fired up out the box and went to town.

I did speak to someone that was recommended in this thread, The best thing was that they could offer support which I'll need as I have never used a cutter, but need one now, and I do think that the GX-24 will give me more scope when I become more experience in the use of a cutter this should do the job.

there are several machines that do contour cutting...for example the GCC cutters...Puma III and Jaguar IV... the Jaguar IV is about the same price as the GX24 and the Puma III is just over half the price. HOWEVER...for beginners, the Roland is the easiest...out of the box...to contour cut. The software comes with it. I personally think it is over priced with limited downforce...just 250gm BUT for most it will be more than adequate.
