Default Coating question

Crazy question...is there kind of material where I can print out the graphic, contour cut it, then somehow put a protective coating over it so that it can be applied to a car window and last?

You need to laminate it with either sheet laminate (Oraguard 210) or various liquid or spray on laminates (Frog Juice www.Superfrog.com).

For the sheet lam our Roland Printer cutter has a print, lam, cut procedure that contour cuts the graphic after you remove it and lam it.

It uses "targets" that it prints around the graphic to line it up after you put it back in after laminating it.

For the sheet laminate you need either a really big dedicated machine or a flat table and something like a Big Squeegee (that a brand name).

The Roland sp-300v I have is solvent ink printer that is designed to print on a number of different media types including vinyl, paper, banners, etc.

It has heaters to heat the vinyl under the printhead and dry it after it prints.

Roland VersaCAMM model SP-300 Printer/Cutter

It also uses rolls of material that are 30" by up to 150'.

I don't think your epson can print on anything that can be installed outside, even with a laminate on it.

Learn something new you know the rest.

I'm coming to this forum from the vehicle graphics side of things where everything is pretty much solvent and UV ink.
